The Hands Project
The Hands Project - 2024~2026
Hands on Well: Celebrating Local Creatives and Supporting the Community.
Hands on Well is proud to launch a project dedicated to celebrating Charlotte’s vibrant creative community. This initiative involves a collaborative art project that will cast the hands of 100 local artists and supporters, symbolizing their creativity and influence on the younger generation. Through this project, we honor the incredible talent that shapes our local art scene and inspires future creatives. Any profits from this project will go directly to local children’s foster care organizations and support the thriving art community in Charlotte.
By merging creativity, community, and philanthropy, we aim to create lasting positive impacts through art.
The Process
This collaborative project brings together 100 artists and the project coordinator, Lee Ko, serving as both a creative exploration and a journey through Charlotte’s vibrant art scene. Each participating artist will meet the project coordinator at the VAPA Center studio to make a mold of their hand. The artists will contribute by creating a collage or artwork while Lee casts their hand to complete the piece. The pieces will belong to the project itself and be showcased as 100 hands in exhibitions.
