Projects
Our projects connect art, community, and cultural exchange through meaningful initiatives.
Building clean water wells through community art.
Hands On Well raises funds to build clean water wells for communities in need. Each well is supported through seasonal fundraising centered around small handcrafted artworks.
For every well, a minimum of 17 handcrafted butterfly pins are created and shared with supporters. The funds are then sent to a partner well-building organization, and the well is typically completed within about two months.
Our fundraising seasons take place twice each year:
• Mother’s Day season
• Christmas season
In addition, butterfly workshops can be organized for special celebrations or community gatherings, allowing participants to create butterfly pieces while supporting a well project.

Supporting local children's foster care through the hands of artists.
The Hands Project brings together artists, educators, and community supporters from across the Charlotte region. Each participant contributes a cast of their hand, honoring the creative hands that shape our community.
The project aims to include 100 participants, and approximately 80 hands have already been cast.
The completed installation will celebrate the creative spirit of the region while raising support for organizations serving children in foster care.
The first exhibition is planned for Charlotte in Fall 2026, with additional exhibitions expected in nearby cities such as Columbia.

Connecting communities through Korean art and culture.
The Culture Project is an ongoing initiative that introduces Korean cultural traditions and contemporary artistic perspectives to the local community.
In Fall 2025, Hands On Well successfully hosted the first Korea in the Queen City event in Charlotte. The program brought together artists, musicians, and cultural practitioners to share Korean culture through exhibitions, performances, and educational experiences.
The second Korea in the Queen City event is currently being prepared for Fall 2026.
Approached from an artist’s perspective, these programs are intended to remain non-commercial and educational, offering meaningful opportunities for cultural understanding and exchange.
