Korea in The Queen City 2025
A Cultural Journey in Charlotte
From Experience to Insight
In November 2025, Hands On Well hosted a month-long cultural sharing project designed to bring the beauty and depth of Korean heritage to the Charlotte community. The journey began with a photography exhibition that captured the landscapes and spirit of Korea, providing a space for dialogue and reflection through the artists’ perspectives.
Building on the exhibition, the project featured a diverse array of programs, including traditional music performances, tea culture experiences, craft workshops, and culinary arts. The traditional tea ceremonies and Jogakbo (patchwork) classes, utilizing materials sourced directly from Korea, were particularly meaningful in sharing the authentic warmth of Korean hospitality.
While most programs were open to the public, specialized workshops such as the craft and tea classes were held in small groups to ensure an immersive experience. For these sessions, a modest participation fee was collected to cover the costs of high-quality materials and instructor fees.
Beyond a simple festival, Korea in the Queen City sought to serve as a bridge between cultures. It offered a moment of discovery for those new to Korean traditions and a warm, shared experience for our neighbors, connecting us all through the universal language of art, music, and food.
This journey, where families, students, and artists came together to experience Korean culture, represents Hands On Well’s commitment to making the world a warmer place through cultural sharing.
